Age Of War

Civilizations rise and collapse in Age of War, a base defense game built around the tension of holding ground while pushing forward at the same time. Your base sits at one end of the battlefield, the enemy at the other, and between you is a constant stream of clashing units across every historical era imaginable.

What makes it grip you is the evolution mechanic. Survive long enough, earn enough XP from combat, and your entire civilization shifts — stone-age clubmen give way to medieval knights, then gunpowder troops, and beyond. The enemy evolves too, so there's no coasting once you find a rhythm that works.

Spending resources is the real game here. Flood the field with cheap units or save up for something devastating? Upgrade your base turrets or push harder on offense? Neither approach works forever, and the pressure builds steadily the longer a match drags on. It's a tug-of-war that rarely lets you breathe.
