Buto Square 2

Eight levels stand between you and completing Buto Square 2, a compact 2D platformer built around one deceptively tricky goal — grab every red hat without getting destroyed. Spikes, ground saws, airborne square creatures, and wandering enemies all have opinions about whether you succeed.

What makes the game stick is how the level design gradually shifts its logic. Early stages feel manageable, almost inviting. Then the layouts tighten, enemy paths overlap in awkward ways, and suddenly that one red hat sitting near a saw blade demands a commitment you weren't expecting to make.

Reaching the Exit door only counts after every hat is collected, which means backtracking through danger rather than sprinting ahead. That small rule changes how you approach each stage entirely — rushing gets punished, but hesitating too long in the wrong spot does too. It's a rhythm you'll find yourself adjusting to without quite noticing.
