Chopsticks

Chopsticks is a turn-based finger counting game rooted in playground mathematics. Two players take turns tapping their hands together, adding finger counts until a hand reaches five — at which point it's eliminated. Simple to grasp, but the strategy runs surprisingly deep.

Splitting a hand is where things get interesting. When one of your hands holds an even number, you can redistribute fingers between your own two hands, keeping yourself alive or setting up a future attack. Opponents who ignore this mechanic tend to lose quickly.

Rounds move fast, and the AI opponent doesn't make careless mistakes. Whether you're rediscovering this from childhood or encountering it for the first time, the back-and-forth logic of each match holds up well as a quick mental challenge.
