Cold Station

Somewhere deep in an abandoned orbital facility, something has gone very wrong. Cold Station drops you into a deteriorating space station overrun by hostile creatures, with a handful of trapped scientists still alive somewhere in the dark. The atmosphere is genuinely oppressive — dim corridors, strange sounds, and threats that don't always announce themselves.

Combat is direct but demands some thought. Rushing in rarely works; positioning and knowing when to retreat matter as much as firepower. Scattered throughout the station are data terminals worth hacking, each one revealing information or unlocking something useful for the fights ahead. Rescuing scientists isn't just a side objective — it feeds into how the story unfolds.

New weapons and abilities unlock across the 15 levels, gradually shifting what's possible in a fight. The difficulty builds steadily without feeling arbitrary. If methodical action games with a sci-fi horror edge appeal to you, Cold Station delivers that with reasonable consistency.
