Enemy variety keeps things from feeling repetitive. Lighter Interceptor units dart around unpredictably, while heavier Juggernaut types absorb punishment and demand a different approach. Clearing a full wave isn't just satisfying — it's necessary to trigger the boss encounter waiting at the end of each protocol stage.

Bosses are distinct, not just stat-inflated versions of regular enemies. Each one has its own attack behavior that rewards patience and observation.
