Zombies took the city overnight — and now Guard the City drops you right into the chaos of reclaiming it. The streets are overrun, and whatever calm existed before dawn is long gone.

Building your guard team is where the real thinking happens. Weapon upgrades, squad positioning, special abilities — none of it works on autopilot. The zombie waves don't give you much room to hesitate, and the city's varied districts throw new wrinkles at you constantly, from tight alleyways to wide-open plazas where enemies can swarm from multiple directions at once.

There's a particular tension in watching your defensive line hold — or collapse. That moment when you've just barely survived a brutal wave with one teammate left standing feels genuinely earned. Coordination matters here more than raw firepower, and figuring out the right combination of skills for each situation is what keeps the whole thing engaging well past the early stages.
