Hextris

Hextris puts a hexagonal spin on the classic falling-block formula, wrapping gameplay around a central hexagon that rotates as colored blocks approach from the outside. The goal is straightforward — line up three or more matching colors along the hex's edges to clear them before the blocks pile too deep.

Rotation is everything here. Spinning the hexagon at the right moment to align incoming pieces demands a kind of spatial thinking that feels distinct from traditional tile-matching games. Combos chain naturally when the setup is right, sending clusters of blocks disappearing in quick succession.

The difficulty creeps up without announcing itself. Blocks arrive faster, the angles get trickier, and a few bad rotations can turn a clean board into a cluttered mess very quickly. Short sessions are perfectly satisfying, but the scoring system gives players a reason to push further each time.
