Infernax

A cursed homeland, undead hordes, and moral weight that actually matters — Infernax is a brutal throwback to old-school action platformers that refuses to be comfortable. You return as a knight to a place you once knew, and what greets you is wrong in every direction.

The atmosphere does something most retro-styled games don't bother attempting: it makes the darkness feel earned. Villages are hollow. NPCs carry grief or menace in equal measure. And the choices you're handed aren't dressed up with obvious good-or-evil labels — some of the worst outcomes arrive through decisions that seemed reasonable at the time.

Combat is punishing and deliberate, demanding rhythm rather than button-mashing. Upgrade paths shift what the game feels like mechanically, not just statistically. Between the branching storyline and the genuine consequences of player decisions, revisiting Infernax with different choices feels less like a second playthrough and more like a different confession.
