Few browser games manage to build genuine dread the way Scary Granny does. Trapped inside a decaying house with a murderous old woman who seems to hear your every footstep, the tension rarely lets up. She moves unpredictably, reacts to noise, and punishes carelessness without mercy.

The house itself becomes something you have to learn — which floorboards creak, where to hide, which rooms hold the items you desperately need. Survival depends less on reflexes and more on patience and observation. Rushing almost always ends badly.

Scattered throughout the environment are clues and objects that slowly reveal how to unlock an escape route. Nothing is handed to you. The atmosphere does a lot of heavy lifting here — muffled sounds, poor lighting, and the distant shuffle of footsteps keep anxiety simmering even during quiet moments. Getting out feels genuinely earned.
