Stray

Stray puts you in control of a wandering cat navigating a forgotten underground city populated entirely by robots. The world feels lived-in and strange — neon-lit alleyways, crumbling apartments, flickering signs advertising nothing to no one.

Movement feels distinctly feline. Leaping across rooftops, squeezing through narrow passages, knocking objects off shelves — the physicality of being a small creature in a vast, indifferent world shapes everything. A small drone companion named B-12 helps decode the mysteries buried beneath the city's surface.

Tension surfaces gradually through stealth sequences and environmental puzzles rather than combat. The atmosphere does most of the heavy lifting, and it does it well. Few games manage to make curiosity feel like a primary mechanic, but exploring here rarely feels aimless — there's always something worth finding just around the next corner.
