The Ironic Zombie

Something about The Ironic Zombie refuses to take itself seriously — and that's exactly the point. A young adventurer teams up with a rock-hurling, mumbling mocker zombie to fight off a horde of genuinely bad undead, which is already a stranger premise than most games dare to attempt.

The mocker zombie communicates in garbled nonsense, throws boulders with alarming enthusiasm, and somehow becomes your most reliable ally. The adventurer brings a gun and considerably more patience. Together they're an absurd pair, but the combat has real weight to it — coordinating between the two characters to clear out waves of evil zombies demands more thought than the game's tone might suggest.

There's a dry humor running through the whole thing, underneath the action. The story leans into its own oddness without winking too hard at the camera. Worth playing just to see how seriously a zombie platformer can treat its most ridiculous premise.
