Dots II
Grid-based strategy rarely gets more satisfying than Dots II. The premise is stripped back to something almost primitive — connect dots, claim squares, outscore your opponent — yet the decisions underneath that surface are genuinely interesting. Timing matters. So does patience.
Two players take turns drawing lines between adjacent dots on a grid. Whoever closes the fourth side of a square claims it and earns another turn. That extra turn can chain into several more, which is where matches shift dramatically in a few moves. Giving up even one square at the wrong moment can hand your opponent a cascade of points.
Playing against the AI offers a reasonable challenge, and the option to face another human locally keeps things competitive in a more unpredictable way. The grid size affects how long a match runs and how much room there is for planning ahead. Smaller grids feel more immediate, larger ones reward longer-term thinking.
