Mario Pixel
Pixel art and platform chaos — Mario Pixel delivers that particular kind of nostalgia that hits before you've even processed what's happening on screen. The chunky sprites, the familiar bounce of a jump, enemies patrolling their loops like nothing has changed in decades.
What makes it work is the weight of it. Movement feels deliberate, coin collection feels satisfying in a way that's hard to articulate, and the level design keeps throwing small surprises without ever feeling unfair. Power-ups shift how you approach obstacles, and boss encounters carry just enough tension to make reaching them feel earned.
There's no pretense here — it's a platformer doing exactly what a good platformer should do, and doing it well within a browser window. Jump, collect, dodge, repeat. Somehow that loop never quite gets old.
