Cards can be removed when their value sits one step above or below the current open card. That single rule creates surprisingly complex decisions, especially when the tableau is dense and the draw pile is running thin. Choosing which card to pick off first matters more than it might seem at first glance.

When no valid moves remain, drawing from the closed stack introduces a new card and sometimes opens up chains you hadn't anticipated.
